A Little About Me

Well, down to the nitty gritty. I am Canadian, despite living in America for the last decade and a half. I doubt I will ever consider myself anything else, as I dearly love my country of birth. I am happily married, even with all the bumps along the way. My husband and I have four children, spaced out by quite a bit. I'll put it this way, the oldest will graduate high school before the youngest even begins kindergarten. But I love them all dearly.

A few interesting tidbits about me.

-I am left handed and think a lot about the ramifications of it. You wouldn't understand unless you are left handed as well. And as much as we are a minority, I think it funny that my brother, my sister in law, my youngest child and my eldest daughter's boyfriend are all left handed as well.

-I love writing. When I was younger, I wrote original works and then used any that applied for school assignments and usually did well with them. In high school I branched out to poetry (which really was not my forte) and a little bit of fan fiction, though I didn't recognize that for many years. Basically I stumbled upon BtVS fan fiction and my life was forever changed.

- I don't watch a lot of television. Mostly because my husband and I think that the prices for it are too outrageous in our area. So we buy box sets of our favorite past shows and lots of movies. Those shows for me include Buffy, Angel, Dark Angel, Charmed, Supernatural and Alias.

- I'm a stay at home mom and have been since I went on maternity leave for my first child. I'm not saying I wouldn't ever go out and get a job, but I already have one of the most important in the world, in my opinion. I just wish the pay rate was there. (Boy, I'd so be out-earning my husband!)

- My favorite foods are pickles and bananas. I always used to follow that up by adding "but not together". Well as of about four years ago, I quit saying that because a slightly soft banana with a baby dill is just about as close to heaven as I can get by myself!

- The one place in this world that I really want to visit is Ireland. Despite what my father asserts, I have done my homework and we have quite a bit of Irish and Scottish heritage in our blood. I would so love to go and meet our Scottish Laird. That would be all kinds of cool. But Ireland, something about the country just sings to my soul.

- I am very often amused by how people misinterpret my pen name. They equate Restive with restful, but that my dears, is not the case. Restive actually means restless and since I adopted that in high school, I felt it was very fitting. My other alias of bavite, is a much more silly high school story, very much one of those, you had to be there, type of thing.

- And for any of you who managed to find me here to get at my fictions, yes I am adding links to them, when I can. I just hope you get as much pleasure out of reading them, as I did writing them.
