For the second time in my life, there has been a bomb threat at one of my kid's school. The first time, it was when my eldest was in kindergarten. That turned out to be a case of some kid being a loud mouth and threatening to come back and dynamite the school during summer, because he was pissy with some of the teachers. A younger student overheard him, told a teacher. The teacher took the students to the principal and a mother that was in the office overheard and called the cops. Total over reaction to the situation.
At this point, all I know is the gossip going around that someone called in a bomb threat to the school.
What I do know is that school went into internal lockdown mid-morning and the call went out to the parents that school was being dismissed at noon. Because of lockdown procedure, the kids would be escorted to their designated parents/ guardians or caregivers. Luckily, I managed to reach the school to authorize my kids release to my neighbor, since my husband has our only vehicle. They got home safe. And then we found out that neighboring towns have their schools in precautionary lockdown in case whatever threat is more widespread. I am amazingly relieved right now that we live across town from the school. Luckily my husband got my texts messages about the situation and immediately tuned into the radio to monitor the situation. I've calmed down with all my kids where I can keep an eye on them. But I need something to keep me a little occupied. So hence, I thought I'd update some more of my fictions here. So lots of posts today.
